Drug-Free Policy
The Homie Initiative is an alcohol and drug-free organization. Our Homies are currently in recovery and have successfully graduated from mental health and or addiction recovery treatments.
Homie Outreach
The Homie Initiative is dedicated to providing support and resources to the homeless community in St. Francois County, Missouri. With an average poverty rate 5% higher than the US national average, our area sees an increased number of individuals experiencing homelessness. Through our Homie outreach program, we aim to make a positive impact and help those in need rebuild their lives.
Safe Space
The Homie Initiative currently partners with area shelters to assist the under-sheltered with a safe temporary housing solution. The Homie Initiative works with local homeless shelters to provide support to those in our community who are experiencing homelessness. Our intake process involves registering individuals, conducting safety checks, and drug testing to ensure the well-being of our participants. We also help connect individuals with addiction and mental health services through organizations like Southeast Missouri Behavioral Center and BJC Mental Health.
Personal Touch
The Homie Initiative is dedicated to supporting the homeless population in St. Francois County by collaborating with various non-profit and for-profit organizations. We provide essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, food, and other necessities to support the Homies in need. Through our partnerships and community outreach efforts, we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
Employment Resources
At The Homie Initiative, we are dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness by providing them with employment assistance through our innovative program. Our goal is to empower and support these individuals in finding sustainable employment opportunities, ultimately leading to long-term stability and independence. Through our partnerships with local businesses and organizations, we are able to connect our clients with job training, resume building, and interview preparation.
